St. John's Book Club includes book lovers who have stimulating and fun conversations about books they have all read. Title selections vary, from Christian topics to popular and literary fiction to relevant non-fiction titles. The group typically selects less expensive paperback books over hardback, books that are in print and available and can often be found as a used copy; no more than about 400-500 pages. Meetings are usually held at 7 PM on the 3rd Monday of each month at Eagle Eye Book Shop in Decatur. For questions, email email@example.com.
The men of St. John's, both visitors and members, gather over dinner at a local restaurant or other activities for connection, fellowship, and support. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Theology on Tap
Theology on Tap meets the second Monday of each month for food, drink and conversation. We meet at 7pm at Manuel’s Tavern at the corner of North and Highland Avenues. Each month a different person selects a topic, perhaps a Biblical passage or a current event, for discussion about how this topic relates to our spiritual lives. The group averages 8-10 people each month. Some are regulars and some are drop-ins. Bring a friend or come alone. We’re a welcoming group. It’s a casual atmosphere and pay-your-own-way for food and drink, but the discussion is free and everyone is encouraged to participate. For questions, email email@example.com.
Our young adults (of no set age limit!) often brunch together after worship, and join together in fellowship on sporadic occasions. To get in touch, just come say hello at church, look for us on Facebook, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The women of St. John's, both visitors and members, gather on a regular basis for a meal or activity to connect with and support one another. Recent events include a trip to the Atlanta History Center, the Swan Coach House for lunch and a poolside potluck. To get in touch with our women's group, you can email email@example.com.
St. John's holds yoga classes from trained instructors every Monday at 6:30 p.m. We will be stretching our minds, our bodies and spirits. We are uniting or yoking ourselves with Christ in body and breath. Plan to join us!
This practice is adapted to all physical conditions. Be sure to bring a mat and comfortable clothing. You can get in touch with our yoga director by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
